Old vines with an average age of 45 years give this Grüner Veltliner its depth and creamy texture. The Late Release wines are stored in large wooden barrels in the cellar for between 3 and 6 years before being released for sale!
Bottled in December 2025!
It is fermented partly in wood, partly in steel – always spontaneously, in order to authentically reflect its origin. An expressive wine with elegance and power.
Terroir Ried Frauenweingärten
Where nutrient-rich soil meets elegance.
The vineyards that extend along the slope between Rossatzbach and Rossatz are referred to as ‘Frauenweingärten’ (Women’s Vineyards). The nutrient-rich soil here provides optimal conditions for expressive wines, primarily of the Grüner Veltliner grape variety.
Shaped by Loess – A Soil with Depth
Ice Age layers give the wines their character.
The gently sloping Ried Frauenweingärten consists predominantly of meter-thick, Ice Age loess.
On the upper slope, material from the nearby Dunkelsteiner Forest, particularly paragneiss and migmatite-amphibolite, mixes in to varying extents.
This causes a loosening of the soil structure and reduces the lime content, which in turn gives the wines a particularly balanced character.
